The Oakland International Airport, located in Oakland, California, shuttles over five thousand passengers each day. When the Port of Oakland chose to upgrade all the food and retail services located in Terminal One, ¼# Giant Burgers, a fifty-year-old Oakland institution, vied for the prime restaurant space. The exterior of the previous restaurant had only a single, small entrance. Our firm remodeled the existing space and designed an eye-catching, 40s-style chrome and neon storefront that created a more accessible and enticing entrance to the restaurant. Opening up the exterior of the restaurant created a brighter interior with more spacious seating. Primary colors create an inviting spot to grab a quick bite to eat while waiting for a flight.
Working within tight budgetary constraints, our team of in-house food service and kitchen layout specialists developed designs that reused existing food service equipment and floor tile and ceiling grids, all in an effort to help our clients keep costs down.
