Mr. Hayashida founded Hayashida Architects in 1979 after a successful career as the Assistant Director of Architecture for the Victoria Station restaurants. Through the formation of his own firm, Mr. Hayashida gained the independence and creative direction needed to ensure the quality of each project. Today, Mr. Hayashida and his partners nurture the artistic and ethical values that have made our firm a success and continue to strive for the highest standard of innovative and practical design solutions for their clients.
Mr. Hayashida holds an NCARB certificate and is registered to practice architecture in 24 states. He is a member of a number of professional and community organizations which include: the American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.); the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI); a past board member of the Asian American Architects and Engineers (AAAE); the Board of Directors of the Berkeley-Albany Metro Y.M.C.A.; past board member and president of the Berkeley Breakfast Club; the Buddhist Churches of America’s Seminar Committee; the Operations Committee for the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley; the Berkeley Buddhist Temple; and the Berkeley Japanese American Citizens League. Mr. Hayashida graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1967. He has been a registered architect since 1974.
